For those of you who follow me on twitter or have me on Facebook know that I spent this weekend in Orlando, Florida with my Sorority visiting our Alumni Chapter there, the Omega Chapter. I loved every second of it..!! Even considering moving there to finish my masters degree..

We arrived Thursday night where my cousin picked us up at the airport and took us to Ceviche Tapas Bar and Restaurant..

On Friday, we woke up early and went to City Walk and Islands of Adventure..

Yesterday CJ and I celebrated our first anniversary!!! I can't even begin to tell you how fast time has flown by.. I can't believe it's been a whole year since we got married!!

CJ's mom planned a surprise get together for us..both our families came and I had no clue about anything!! I was totally shocked! Cj's cousin baked us this delicious chocolate cake that was to die for.!!! We definitely had a great time..!!

Why is it that we judge others simply by having heard some gossip or a stupid rumor? Why is it so much easier to start disliking someone because of what we heard? Shouldn't we at least try to find out the truth before we make our conclusions about the situation?

I'm not a fan of judging others, since I'm not perfect and all.. but I've been victim to this.. sometimes I realize I'm judging someone or distancing myself simply because of something I heard. Then, when I happen to talk to the person, not about anything specific, simply talk, I notice that I've been acting like a dumb ass.

So, from now on, I am going to avoid doing this. I apologize to anyone I've done this to and will try my best to ignore shit people say before I draw my own conclusion about others..

hello peeps.!! A little update..
I just started classes again this week, continuing my second trimester of my MBA and it all started off awesomely great..!!! The marketing professor handed back our midterms (we took Dec 19th) and let me tell you what a huge surprise!!!! I left Dec 19 almost crying thinking I had flunked that exam!! and to my huge surprise I got a 94/100 !!!!! I was shocked but extremely HAPPY!! I even posted the picture of the grade on my Facebook!

Since today is Friday the 13th.. I wanted to share with all of you an article I just read about some incidents on this not-so-lucky day..!! very interesting.!!!

As 2012 was fast approaching I couldn't help but recap important things about 2011...

It was the year I married my best friend.. (Jan 28th) .. the year I accepted the challenge of being President of an Alumni Chapter (Beta) in my Sorority.. and finally, the year I began my MBA.. three huge things in just one year.. can't wait to find out what this year has for me.... bring it 2O12...!!

This year's resolutions are:

1. new diet: stop eating meat and drinking Coca Cola/Pepsi and start eating healthier..

2. relax: I need to take things one at a time.. I'm taking too much on and the consequences are all my anxiety attacks in the middle of the night thinking of all the things I have to do.. I need to stop being the control freak/ perfectionist I am all the time.. It's good to get things done the right way the first time.. but I also need to remind myself that some things are out of my control.. I am just one person..

3. baby?: Our families are now constantly asking Cj and I for a baby... so lets see if 2O12 makes it happen.. It's not that we are trying to get pregnant, but we aren't avoiding it either... if it happens, happens.. only God knows..

We spent Christmas Eve it at my parent's house since it's been a family tradition for my mom to cook for all the kids and grand kids.. Of course we had pasteles, pernil, arroz con gandules, arroz con dulce as dessert, and some home made coquito with pitorro.. It couldn't get any better..

For the past 6 years, it's also been part of our Christmas Eve tradition, for all the "kids" to take a picture together in age order.. here's this year's photo:

Today I finally caught up to the latest episode of the RHOBH and I can't help but dislike Kyle at times. Last season she was my all time favorite housewife, but it seems this season she has, in some ways, changed. Last season she had the whole Camille drama, but that was pretty much it. On the other hand, this season, she's always in the middle of all those drama-filled situations! Not to even mention the episode where she acted like a mean bully towards Brandi..

Also, she seems so thirsty for attention!! It's like.. common!! You already star in a reality show, what more do you want? Making splits in other people's parties.. acting all crazy.. I mean.. is that the only way you can have fun? I can't help but wonder if it's her increase in fame/money that changed her..

Of course I know that we only see what Bravo edited.. but still.. can't help but dislike her.. but only some times.. not always..

It seems it's been almost two weeks since my last post here and I can't even begin to tell you how weird that feels but I've been so busy/tired that I haven't found time to sit down and actually blurt it all out.. so finally, here goes nothing..

1. I'm still taking classes.. ugh.. this sucks.. almost everyone I know is already enjoying there Christmas vacations!! While I'm still studying for a lovely Midterm (stupid trimesters) I have on my last official day.. this Monday Dec. 19th.. I can't tell you how much I want Monday to come and go..

2. CJ and I started a new series.. BONES..!!! we are hooked!! I've seen some episodes on TV but know we started season 1 and we can't stop watching it..!! plus.. David Boreanaz (Booth) is beyond HOT.!! so of course, that helps too.. lol

3. I've been working out every morning with CJ's mom.. at 8am sharp we are outside burning some calories.. we do almost 2miles every morning.. which is just fabulous!

4. Last night my Alumni Chapter in my Sorority hosted a Winter Wonderland Charity Event.. every person that attended had to donate a gift which we'll give to the kids at a home for abused children next.. The activity was a success.. I'm so excited to go visit the kids and see their smiles when they see all the toys! Giving back to your community is something very important.. so during this Holiday Season, why not do something nice for others in need? Trust me, it's beyond gratifying..

Friday Night Movie with the hubs..

Almost every Friday night, CJ and I pick a movie to watch, today I chose 127 Hours. This is a biographical adventure movie filmed in 2010, starring James Franco. It's about a mountain climber, Aron Ralston, who becomes trapped by a huge rock in a canyon in Utah. It's an amazing true story.. I mean all the things he did in order to survive!! I don't know if I'd be able to do any of those things!

I really liked it though I thought some parts of the movie were a bit slow.. Cj didn't like it at all.. he said it was all too slow for his taste.. He didn't want to admit it, but I know he enjoyed some of it at least..

I highly recommend this movie!! Have any of you seen it?? What did you think of it?

From shoe box to jewelry box

So today I spent my whole Saturday morning doing laundry and cleaning.. during all this, I realized I had a mess in my jewelry area.. being the clean ~~freak~~ person that I am, I had to change that. I decided to do my first DIY project..

You will need a regular shoe box, some wrapping paper, glue and scissors. I used the paper and ribbon CJ used to wrap my birthday gift..

this was my birthday gift.. just to show you where I got the idea from..

Time to get to work..

Here's how the mess looked before..

Cut the paper and start gluing it little by little according to the shape of the box

this might happen.. you may need to "attach" another piece of paper to complete one side.. but since this doesn't look that pretty.. you can also add a ribbon..

I measured the ribbon's thickness in proportion to the box and it was too thick.. .. so ...

I decided to cut it..

now, it looks much better.. DONE..*!

Final look.. no more messy area..*

the best part of it all, I didn't have to invest in anything.. I just used things I had around the house..!

I'm beyond excited to let you all know that I got all A's during my first trimester of my MBA!!!!!! I could never say that during my bachelor's degree and yet now, during my masters, I can!!! how sad is that!? lol.. yay for me!! I like this new, nerd me.. !
But, I must say, it's been a tough couple of months.. I mean, I'm president of one of the Alumni Chapters in my Sorority.. plus married life.. plus all those long study sessions.. ugh.. let me tell you, it has not been easy.! But all my sacrifices are definitely paying off.. I have a 4.0 GPA now! woohoo for me!

Pluuuuus..

I just found out today about my fabulous grades and what better timing, my 25th birthday being tomorrow, Nov. 10th.. and all.!! I'll definitely toast to that! Cheers!

Weekend recap..*!

On Friday Cj and I went to a party his fraternity along with another frat were hosting. It was called Phi Eta Mu + Alpha Beta Chi Greek Extravaganza! They had this great band that played mostly 80's music, which we loved.

That night we stayed over at my parent's house, which made me get one of those Reality Check: I'm married now..

Usually when we needed to spend the night there, we'd stay in my "old" room.. but NOW, my little brother has taken over my room! Mom turned his room into her office and the old office/guest room is now the official guest suite! So guess where CJ and I slept?? In the guest suite!!! So, I don't have my own place yet and now, I'm a guest in my house! I have to admit, I do love what my mom has done.. all those changes look awesome. BUT, Cj and I still don't have our apt, so now, I don't have a place to call home. We live with Cj's parents, so as far as I'm concerned, that's CJ's house, not mine.. and what used to be my house, I now have to sleep in a guest room. This Reality Check couldn't have been more obvious, even if it had slapped me in the face.

Even though I had a rough time accepting all these changes, I really enjoyed spending time with my family. Since CJ and I live in a different city, I don't get to see them that often.

That evening, Cj took me to Applebee's for dinner. We ate so much and for so little!! We only paid like less than $30!!! So if you're on a budget, I recommend Applebees! Delicious food for an awesome price!

On Sunday, we I spent the whole day cleaning and doing laundry. I needed to get everything done since today I was supposed to spend the day studying for my Management Theory Class Final. I have the final and a project due the same day! (November 1st --> yup, happy Halloween to me) The thing is, I really need to get ahead since the day after my Management Final and project due date, I have my Research Class' group project presentation. Can't wait for it to be November 2nd. All at once, thank you very much!

For today's Fun Friday, I'm going to make it Pet Day!

Cj and I are parents to two rescued dogs. The oldest one is a girl named Gigi Marie Angelique and the youngest one is our baby boy, Takito Lorenzo.

Since CJ and I don't have our own apt, we can't have both dogs in the same house, so Gigi lives with my parents and Takito with Cj's parents, where Cj and I are currently staying while we find out apt.

Go green bag vs cashier

So, today I bought a Go Green Bag at K-Mart and the cashier instead of putting my things in it, she actually put the bag, along with everything else, in a plastic bag!!!! hello!!! isn't the whole point of these go green bags to reduce the usage of plastic bags!??? tsk. I was literally shocked. I mean, come on! it's common sense!!

Halloween greeting cards..

Today I got a little Reality Check.
To me, it seemed like married people/grown ups were the ones that usually send holiday greeting cards to friends and family.. at least that's how I've always seen it since before I got married my mom was the one to send the cards and I never did.
Today as I found myself without stamps I realized.. wow.. Reality Check: I'm married..!! Before, whenever I needed to send something, which was almost never.. I would ask my mom for stamps and today I was like.. crap.. I should own stamps now, huh!?
I know it seems lame, but before I got married, I would rely on my mom for stuff like this. So, today, I went to Walgreens and bought my first stamp book!! Like an all grown up married person I sent out 5 Halloween greeting cards! One of them was for my pen pal in Canada!! I really hope she, first of all, gets the card, and secondly, likes it.

Roadtrip!

Yesterday Cj and I went on a road trip with his parents. It was lovely! We went to like three different beaches (perks of living in an island). The guys had their beers.. a lot.. while, I only had like 1 and a half.. I'm such a bore. Don't like beers that much anymore. We ate fish, which was lovely I must say.

Today, along with my Sorority and little brother, I'm participating in this huge Breast Cancer Awareness Activity. It's called "Put Your PINK Bra ON! For today's Fun Friday.. I'm going to talk about UFOs..

One of Cj's friends posted on his Facebook profile a UFO video. Being a curious person, I decided to see it.
It's not that I believe in UFOs but I'm also very open-minded.. and after seeing this video, now I'm not just open-minded, but a bit scared.

Do any of you guys believe in UFOs??

Some time ago I made a bucket list with 100 goals. One of them is to investigate this subject. A bit lame, I know. But a lot of people are talking about it and I'm starting to find it interesting. Don't worry, I'm not a fanatical person, so it's not like I'm obsessing over it.. at all.. It's just for fun.. So if you have interesting information to share about UFOs, feel free to do so.

A very close friend of mine, Bee, had a fight with a supposedly close friend of hers... which we'll call.. Carrie. A couple of months ago, Bee got mean anonymous messages through Formspring. The thing is that what the anonymous person was saying in those messages were things Bee had only told one person, Carrie. Bee asked her if she had done it, of course she denied it. But, just last week, another person (that's actually very close to Carrie) confirmed that Carrie had in fact written those messages. So Bee and Carrie got into a huge fight. Carrie, stupidly enough, writes down everything in her Facebook statuses. The thing is, Carrie wrote a status asking for a "hacker's help ASAP". Bee didn't think much of it, till last night. There's now a fake Facebook profile of Bee!!! Coincidence?? Don't think so! Psycho much!?! Indeed!! Bee reported the fake profile, but Facebook hasn't taken it down yet. I can only begin to imagine what she planned on doing with that. How mean can a person be!?

Gosh, people really need to be careful with who they trust. So lesson of the day, don't trust everyone.. there are a bunch of psychos out there.

did any of you dolls have a pen pal when you were younger?? I remember when I was in second grade, our English teacher entered our class in this pen pal program with kids from another country. We exchanged letters that whole year. It was wonderful to see things from another person's point of view.. even if it was just a second grader at the time.

As all you lovelies can see.. I changed my blog. It used to be on getting those reality checks in life we sometimes ignore, miss or simply don't pay attention to. But honestly, that really limited my posts, cause of course I would only write of situations I'd personally experience or seen others experience. Now, my life will be the reality check. As most of you know, I got married this year. Yet things, our life basically, doesn't seem to be like that of a married couple. So, since January 2011, I've experienced certain things that are simply part of the single life-married life transition. A lot of "Reality check! you're married now" situations.. Sometimes CJ and I have to remind ourselves, we're married.. and that some choices and decisions have to be made around that huge and obvious reality. Now, I'll blog about all these moments where I learn the hard way that I'm no longer a "single", independent women, but rather a wife to a my best friend. You'll be reading more about CJ than you did before, about our kids (the dogs), our living situation/frustrations, and basically everything we go through as young newlyweds.

I need urgent reviews..!!

Under directions it says it unclogs and minimizes pores, removes oils, dirt and makeup residue... but instead of directions I swear it should say: SARCASM! In my case, it has done the exact opposite! When I first got it, I had like three tiny blackheads, which were not even visible! But wanting to get rid of those, I bought this stupid product and ever since I started using it, it had made me look like a 9nth grader in the middle of puberty!!! HELP!

Has anyone used this product? A friend told me that some products make your "pimples" come out and then prevents them from returning in the same spot.. or something like that.. is that true?

I'm going crazy! Today I plan on buying something to make my face return to its normal pimple-free zone ASAP! any recommendations?? Know about products that make pimples go away FAST?

Oh, FYI.... never buy this stupid product!

So a couple of weeks ago I started classes again. It has been a year since I actually studied for an exam and now I have to start studying for my midterms! I'm already stressing out a bit.

I'm always tired, I'm not waking up early, and since I'm going to the University with CJ during the day (my classes are at night) to get ahead on my exam outline, I've been behind on my cleaning.. and God only knows I'm a bit of a clean freak!! So it adds up to my stress!! .. lame I know.. but hey, that's me. I need to get the laundry done also. Thank God CJ's mom helps out with the cleaning and stuff. But still.. stressing here.. help! The bright side to this new hectic life style is that CJ told me I didn't need to work anymore. So at least there are a few couple of hours added to my day I guess..

I need to get a hair cut.. what should I do, trim it a little or go short? Right now it's a like 3 inches below my shoulders.. advice?

It seems 18 years passed right by me and I didn't even notice.. It seems as if yesterday my oldest sister was waking me up, in the middle of the night, to tell me that my mom and dad had left for the hospital, under strong winds and lots of rain due to a tropical storm, to welcome our little brother. It seems time as flown by.. and that little brother that made his entrance to this world with a bang, is turning tomorrow 18 years old. It seems only a couple of weeks ago I saw him graduate from pre-kinder, and today?.. well, today was his first day of college.

This young man I have the privilege of not only calling my baby brother, but the most important man in my life, is the best thing that happened to my family. He brought my mom and dad closer together in a time they were falling apart and he too brought my sister and I together because we loved spending time with him, just us three.

It seems, Andy has taught me to love him unconditionally, even when we've wanted to kill each other. It seems, he makes me proud every day, no matter how small he thinks his actions are. It seems that even though is already turning 18 years old, I'll always love him like my baby brother..

MBA + Law School.. ?? I must be crazy!

Yesterday I finally had my Graduate School interview! Everything went beyond great! But, as I was talking to the director of the Business Administration Graduate School he tells me that I am a great candidate for a binary program the University offers. This program consists of getting your MBA and law degree at the same time!!! My initial thought was: does he think I'm a masochist? or suicidal?? Getting an MBA or Law Degree alone is beyond hard, imagine both of them at the same time!!

BUT...Since I was planning on getting my law degree post the MBA.. I said, why not!?

The scheduling of this program goes as follows: the first year, (which I start THIS Monday) I'd be taken Graduate School classes only (at night I might add), and as of August 2012, during the day I'd be going to law school and at night, Graduate School.. and yet again, the same thought comes to mind.. am I suicidal?

I still have a couple of months before I actually go for it... I have to apply to their law school (way before August of course) and if the accept me there, then I'd actually do it. But as far as my student file goes, those are the plans.

As far as reality goes, we'll see ;)

My parents are beyond excited, proud and happy..!! What parent wouldn't be? One heck of a multitasking daughter! :)

Anyway.. gotta go.. I'm going for a jog!

Good morning peeps..!! It's bright & early and I'm already awake.! Takito wakes up early needing to go outside and pee.. so guess who he wakes up? not CJ, no, but me!! it's like we have a real baby where the mom usually wakes up to attend its needs..! lol.. I guess when our time comes, I'll be more than prepared for all those wake ups? Probably not.. but oh well, gotta look at the bright side to waking up early on the last day I can actually sleep in.

How was everyone's weekend? on Friday Cj & I went to his fraternity's Pledge Week Talent Show. It was fun but since on Thursday we had gone out as well to a Cocktail Party, we were both so tired! Yesterday we spent the whole day watching movies on our new Blu Ray Disc player he got us :) I love that he buys a lot of things for us (hey,what girl wouldn't?)..

Since we are both a bit sick, I don't think we'll be doing much today. I need to get better for tomorrow. I have my graduate school interview!! Wish me luck!!* =D

From now on.. every Saturday will be Fitness Saturday .. I will share with you healthy recipes and/or work out routines I find/try.

Summer is coming to an end, so it's time to get back on track and lose those few extra pounds we've gained during vacation.

For today's first post, I'm going to share a salad recipe and work out techniques

Cesar Salad with Chile-Cilantro Dressing

Ingredients:

1/2 (8-inch) fat-free flour tortilla, cut into 1/4-inch-wide strips
Cooking spray
6 cups torn romaine lettuce
1/4 cup unsalted pumpkinseed kernels, toasted
1/3 cup Chile-Cilantro Dressing
1/2 cup chopped tomato

How to make Chile-Cilantro Dressing:

2 tablespoons unsalted pumpkinseed kernels, toasted
2 tablespoons canola oil
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons crumbled reduced-fat feta cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 (4.5-ounce) can chopped green chiles, undrained
1 garlic clove, chopped
1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons water
1/2 cup plain fat-free yogurt

How to prepare your dressing:

Place the first 8 ingredients in a blender; process 15 seconds. Gradually add cilantro; process until smooth.
Combine 2 tablespoons water and yogurt in a small bowl, stirring with a whisk until smooth. Add cilantro mixture; stir well.

Working out: Walking/Running

I love running/speed walking..*!

But, whenever I spend too much time without running, the day I start running again, I feel like dying.. so, I recommend you start off walking. But remember, you're not going for a stroll at the park.. you wanna burn calories! Start off walking .. and little by little increase your pace. For your first day, I suggest that the fastest you go is speed walking. If you feel like you can start jogging, by all means do so. It's important to understand you need to get your body in shape, one step at time. So if you can't run today, don't. It's totally normal if you can't.

After taking a couple of weeks off from working out/running.. I'M BACK.!! Yesterday I went to Kmart to buy Bally Total Fitness Slimming Belt .. it's basically a walking sauna, which is awesome cause it makes you seat even more when you're working out.

it was only around $10 !! which made it an even nicer deal.!! I started using it yesterday for my run and let me tell you it does make you sweat!!

I'm talking to my guy best friend and he's telling me how he's very much interested in this girl. He goes on talking on how cute she is, on how great they get along.. bla bla bla.. and then he admits that he had known about her for some time now, a couple of years to be exact. for the past month or so, I've been running and working out. Mondays-Fridays I try to run every day, but sometimes I just come home extra tired from work.. so I skip :( BUT on Saturdays and Sundays I always wake up around 7:30 am - 8:30 am and go for a run and workout for some time.. not a lot, but just enough. Ever since CJ and I got married, I've put on some weight.. like any newlywed, Ive heard. But still.. being asked over and over again if I was pregnant made me wanna start working out.. lol

People always ask how much time I run.. or what distance.. I just say.. the time and distance I feel like running that particular day.. I use this app on my phone called "My Cardio Trainer" and I just run for as much as I feel like I can and then I push myself a bit more..(so that next time I'll be able to run more).. then this wonderful app tell me the total distance and the calories burned, among other things.

So, I've lost some weight.. but I wanna keep going of course.. until I have a flat belly..*! :)

Any of you guys working out? any diets you recommend? I'm trying not to eat a lot of "fatning" things.. but it's not like I'm actually dieting.. don't like feeling deprived.. hahaha...I just work out.. and try to stay in shape..

Some people take diets and work outs to the extreme, wanting for their bones to show and that way feeling beautiful.. well, not me.. I just want a flat belly and to be "healthy-ly" fit..

stay healthy.. cuz at the end.. that's all that matters..*!

Do you guys have a wish list of places you'd love to travel to? I sure do..! Mine keeps getting longer each day I get reminded of a beautiful place in the world..! If you wish to share your list, by all means DO SO :) I'd love to add more places haha! :)

In no specific order.. I'd LOVE to go to:

these are the ones I remember at the moment.. for sure I'll add more places.. lol

of course.. I need to save up SO MUCH MONEY for all this traveling haha..!!

Another fabulous week.. another fabulous Quote Sunday..*!!!

Today I'm going to be taking the time to clear something up.. Lately I've been hearing people complain about their relationships.. too much fighting going on over stupid little things.. for example; if the girl talks to another guy, her bf get upset.. well.. wouldn't it bother you more if he didn't care? Another example is that the girl changes her Facebook profile picture.. going from having one with him to one alone.. and again her bf gets upset.. wouldn't you just hate having him not care about your profile? if he cares, he's such a psycho and if he doesn't he's suck a jerk!.. umm.. well.. those options suck.!!
